Agricultural Development in the next 15 years:

Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy. Agriculture is the main livelihood in India’s villages and consequently, not only does it employ over 50% of the population, but also makes up for 18% of the GDP. Growth in agriculture is going to come in multiple segments. There are technologies in seeds production, micro-organism based products for plants, satellite based solutions, sensors for multiple tests, reports and alerts. There are also disease controlling methodology, irrigation technologies and mechanical automations to reduce the labour intensiveness and agricultural effectiveness. The new technologies by using digital, microbiology and satellite technology is going to change the agricultural world completely in the coming years. The growth in agriculture and its allied services will be huge and there is going to be a big scope for marketing with the rise in income levels of rural India. But the variation and new innovations will be required by the marketers as well. The mapping of every land with the help of the satellites would help the companies to provide the solutions to the farmers on an individual basis. Even governments would be able to provide alerts and other scheme related information to the farmers directly on this basis. The coming years will be years of transformation.
